THE GREAT WALLPAPER EXPERIENCE
The 20 places will be released on Wednesday, 19 August at 9.00 AM Swedish time.
An exclusive two-day journey into the world of wallpaper
3–4 November 2026 · Ulricehamn, Sweden
Turn your ideas into real products.
Learn what happens between the creative idea and the finished wallpaper, and leave with practical knowledge you can apply to your own design work. Join me, Hanna Wendelbo, for an intimate two-day experience at Ulricehamns Tapetfabrik, one of Sweden’s historic wallpaper manufacturers. Together, we will explore the fascinating journey from inspiration, pattern and colour to a finished roll of wallpaper.
You will get to step behind the scenes of the factory, meet the people who make wallpaper happen and gain a deeper understanding of the craftsmanship, techniques and decisions involved in bringing a design into production.
This is a unique opportunity to get close to the entire process — and to spend two inspiring days surrounded by pattern, colour, creativity and people who share your passion for design.
DAY ONE · INSPIRATION & PROCESS
We begin with a welcome from Anna Anden, CEO of Ulricehamns Tapetfabrik, who will introduce the factory, its history and its unique production line.
I will then take you through the journey from pattern to product, exploring what happens when a creative idea leaves the sketchbook and moves into production.
We will look at different wallpaper printing techniques, colour development and the process of working with a colour master, with a focus on how to turn your own ideas and patterns into professionally produced wallpaper.
After a traditional Swedish fika, we step inside the factory for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the production process.
You will see how a pattern is transformed into wallpaper and gain insight into the craftsmanship, techniques and decisions behind the finished product.
MEET THE COLOUR MASTER
You will also meet Thomas Johansson, Ulricehamns Tapetfabrik’s colour master.
Thomas has decades of experience developing wallpaper colours and working closely with external designers.
He will share his knowledge of how colours are developed, adjusted and prepared for production and how a designer’s vision is translated into a production-ready colour palette. This is practical knowledge you can take directly into your own creative practice.
We end the day with a three-course dinner, good food and plenty of time to continue the conversations and get to know the other participants.
DAY TWO · BEHIND THE SCENES & ONE-TO-ONE
After breakfast, we return to the factory for a second, more in-depth visit.
There will be time to explore, ask questions and dive deeper into the production process.
ONE-TO-ONE SESSIONS
A special part of the experience is the opportunity to book an individual session with Hanna, Anna or Thomas.
Bring along your own pattern, an idea you are developing, a wallpaper project — or simply the questions you have always wanted to ask.
These one-to-one conversations are an opportunity to receive personal input and discuss your own creative work with people who have hands-on experience of turning ideas into wallpaper.
There will also be plenty of time throughout the morning for informal conversations, questions and exchange of ideas.
THIS EXPERIENCE IS FOR YOU IF:
• You love pattern, colour and wallpaper
